The images in this gallery were taken during November and December 2002 on a trip to the Southern Oceans and Antarctic Peninsula. The trip was organized by Wings and Oceanwide Expeditions, and included 19 days aboard the Grigoriy Mikheev, a Russian reseach vessel with an ice-strengthened hull, and a most-excellent Russian crew. The trip started in Buenos Aires, and included an all-too-brief stay in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego before heading out on the open seas. |
